I built my first guitar when I was 10 years old while spending the summer at my grandparent's lake cottage.  It was made from a canoe paddle and fishing line.  It turned up a few days later back in the canoe...as just a paddle.  My grandfather clearly didn't get my genius.

My building style

I build every guitar by hand, one at a time, every step focused on the best possible outcome for that specific piece of wood.  I use only master grade materials and will not let an instrument leave my shop if I don't like its final sound profile.

Working with the player on the guitar objectives is the real joy of the process.  Together we'll talk about types of music, style, feel and play-ability of the instrument.  I'll guide you through material choices, trade-offs and costs.  Finally, you should be thrilled every time you look at the guitar, its art and beauty should be a reflection of you.  It's one of the most enjoyable aspects custom crafting a guitar.  Lastly, I like to take some creative latitude as the guitar is coming together.  It makes every guitar unique and keeps me from being bored with standard production.
